LAURA R CORTES
Graduate Student

I am interested in the development of sex differences. During my undergraduate research, I investigated the effects of neonatal exposure to endocrine disruptors on sexually differentiated behavior, and the effects of adolescent stress on anxiety- and depressive-like behavior. In Nancy’s lab, I am continuing to study the development of sex differences in the context of epigenetics. I am interested in how early life epigenetic events contribute to sexual differentiation later in life and how steroids play a role in this process. For fun, I enjoy gardening and cooking.
