RESEARCH PROJECTS

We investigate the effects of perinatal events – natural or introduced by obstetric practices – on the development of the mammalian brain. These events include the arrival of the microbiota at birth, birth mode, birth timing, antibiotic treatment, among others. We are also interested in the role of epigenetics in the development of sex differences in the brain.
